altworship was an event every Sunday evening at Berea Church (PCUSA), 2621 Russell in South St. Louis, that began in January, 2008. Together, we sought a stronger relationship with our higher power, the triple-strength God. Sister Virginia Gilbert is a 2007 graduate of Eden Theological Seminary and now preaches occasionally at Epiphany United Church of Christ in Benton Park. Sister Serenia Smalls is ordained in a non-denominational church and is now living in Hawaii. The leaders ceased regular services in mid-2009. But the spirit behind altworship continues. And I (Virginia) will continue to post messages and examples of alternative worship from time to time.
